FORMULA 3
Venue: Albert Park Circuit, Australia
Event Description
The 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship begins at the Albert Park Circuit, where a grid of 30 drivers—including 17 rookies—faces the unique challenges of the Melbourne street track. After a dominant Friday for Campos Racing, which saw Théophile Naël claim pole position ahead of teammate Ugo Ugochukwu, the focus shifts to the Sprint Race. Because the Sprint utilizes a reversed top-12 grid based on Qualifying results, the front of the pack will be a frantic battleground of young talent looking for their first podium of the year.
The semi-permanent nature of the track means grip levels will evolve rapidly, rewarding those who can adapt to the "rubbered-in" surface left by F1 sessions. Home favorite James Wharton (PREMA Racing) and New Zealander Louis Sharp will be under immense pressure to perform in front of a local crowd. With four DRS zones available, overtaking is possible, but the unforgiving walls and high-speed chicanes mean that even a minor lapse in concentration can end a driver's weekend prematurely.
Links will be available 1 hour before kickoff.
